National Youth Service Corps, Community Development Service group, has held a free medical outreach at Tarasa village under Birnin Kebbi local government area of Kebbi state.
The free medical outreach was conducted in collaboration with the Kebbi first lady’s organization, Nasara Foundation at Tarasa village where at least 451 patients were examined and given free drugs during the all-encompassing medical outreach.
According to the president of the CDS group, Kenneth Bello Adetomiwa, the medical outreach seeks to assist rural dwellers know their health status at the same time assist them with free drugs to treat their diagnosed ailments.
Bello added that at least 210 male patients were seen and given free drugs alongside 241 female patients all benefitted from the free medical outreach.
“Our choice of rural areas was based on their inability to access health facilities in the urban areas partly due distance or economic situation”
While commending the Kebbi first lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, for sponsoring the medical outreach. He said the free medical outreach will continue to impact rural dwellers both male and female as long as the collaboration and sponsorship continues with Nasara Foundation .
He urged the beneficiaries to make best use of the drugs given to them and to follow instructions on drugs usage.
Janet Elijah, a member of group also admonished patients with cases of malnutrition to grab natural diets to boost their nutrition which she said will help in building their body defence mechanism to fight undiagnosed ailments.
