By Austin Angwe, Makurdi

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a suit filed by the Government of Nasarawa State against Prof. Zack Anger Gundu to January 15, 2026.

The adjournment was granted to enable the court hear a preliminary objection challenging its jurisdiction to entertain the suit, filed by Prof. Gundu’s counsel, Prof. S. T. Hon, SAN.

Prof. Gundu was present in court, accompanied by members of the Mzough U Tiv Abuja Chapter, led- by its President, Terver Kokoiwen, to demonstrate solidarity with the University of Mkar Vice Chancellor.

The claimants’ counsel had requested an adjournment, which was not opposed by Prof. Gundu’s counsel.

However, Prof. Hon informed the court that they had filed a Notice of Preliminary Objection challenging the court’s jurisdiction and urged the court to adjourn the matter for hearing of the objection.

Justice of the FCT High Court 24, Maitama, granted the adjournment and directed that the matter be heard on January 15, 2026.
