In a strong show of confidence, the Alioma and Ezekuna Alioma autonomous communities in Ohaukwu Local Government Area have endorsed Governor Francis Nwifuru for a second term, citing his pivotal role in restoring peace and driving development in Effium.
The endorsement came during the communities’ annual gathering at Ebeta Primary School, Effium, a colorful event marked by cultural displays, communal solidarity, and the conferment of chieftaincy titles on notable stakeholders and peacemakers.
The gathering brought together dignitaries, traditional rulers, community associations, and residents from across the newly created autonomous communities.
Chief Chinedu Awo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Power, commended Governor Nwifuru for his steadfast commitment to resolving the long-standing Effium communal crisis.
“The governor’s peace-driven leadership has accelerated recovery in these once-troubled communities, putting them firmly on the path of stability and growth,” he said.
Awo further noted that the communities were experiencing a “restoration of their long-lost glory” and pledged their support not only for the governor’s second-term bid but also for other APC candidates in upcoming elections.
The newly installed chiefs, including Chief Christian Nweke and Chief John Ochiagu, vowed to champion justice, truth, and lasting peace, leveraging their positions to foster unity and development in their communities.
Paramount leader Chief Emmanuel Owuru and community stakeholder Dr. Joseph Utobo praised the collaborative efforts of the government, security agencies, and residents in stabilizing Effium, noting that the addition of new chiefs would strengthen local governance and communal harmony.
The event concluded with cultural performances and prayers for the continued success of Governor Nwifuru’s administration and the sustained peace now enjoyed in Effium and neighboring communities.
