By Haruna Usman, Birnin Kebbi

The organised labour in Kebbi state on Wednesday held a solidarity rally in Kebbi State to align with the umbrella body of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) who held rallies across the country.

Led by the Kebbi State chairman, Comrade Murtala Usman, the rally was attended by at least 13 labour affiliates including NANNM, NCSU, NUJ, NUT, RATAWU, NULGE, SSNU, AUCTRE among others.

Addressing the gathering at Labour House shortly after the peaceful procession, Usman said that theirs is not a protest but a solidarity rally because Kebbi is relatively peaceful despite pockets of attacks by bandits.

“We are here in solidarity with our umbrella body and Nigerians facing security challenges in their states, they should know the organised labour stands with them “.

He explained that insecurity under Governor Nasir Idris is being addressed squarely and is getting the attention it deserves.

Speaking further, the labour chief noted that insecurity knows no tribe or religion, therefore Nigerians must unite to fight the menace even as he pledged workers safety. He appealed for vigilance in the face of security challenges.
