In a strategic move to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Works and Founder of the MSL Foundation, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, has inaugurated a 10-member APC membership e-registration committee for Abakaliki Local Government Area.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Abakaliki, also witnessed the presentation of tablet devices, laptops and other auxiliary logistics to members of the committee to ensure efficiency and comprehensive coverage of the electronic registration exercise across the council area.
Speaking at the event, Engr. Mbam described the initiative as a deliberate intervention aimed at complementing the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and strengthening the leadership, structure and grassroots dominance of the APC in Ebonyi State and across the country.
According to him, the adoption of digital tools for party registration would enhance grassroots mobilisation, improve data accuracy and guarantee broader participation in the APC’s ongoing membership drive.
“This intervention is part of our commitment to supporting the administration of His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress nationwide.
“The e-registration exercise is central to strengthening our party’s structure, and we must ensure that no eligible member is excluded from the process,* Mbam said.
The Commissioner noted that a significant number of residents in Abakaliki Local Government Area were yet to formally register as members of the APC, a situation he said necessitated the constitution of the committee and the provision of necessary logistics to fast-track the exercise.

“It has been observed that many Ebonyi people, particularly those in Abakaliki, have not registered. This informed our decision to facilitate and accelerate the exercise so that everyone willing to be part of the APC can do so seamlessly,” he added.
Reaffirming the party’s dominance in the area, Mbam declared that “Abakaliki is APC, and APC is Abakaliki,” expressing strong confidence in the party’s preparedness and prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The 2027 elections are already a done deal for the APC. What we are doing today is consolidating our base, strengthening democratic participation and ensuring that our structures remain solid from the grassroots,” he stated.
He further urged eligible voters across the local government area to not only register as APC members but also ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing voter registration as essential to promoting democratic ideals, good governance and accountable leadership.
Mbam charged members of the e-registration committee to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency and integrity, stressing the need to capture every eligible resident within Abakaliki Local Government Area and its environs during the exercise.
Our correspondent reports that the inauguration of the committee marks another significant step in the APC’s technology-driven efforts to expand its membership base and consolidate its grassroots presence across Ebonyi State ahead of future electoral contests.
To God be the glory as Ebonyi state Government is following the trends of things in the society.
We thank God for the leadership of His Excellence Builder Francis Ogbonia Nwifuru the people’s governor.
