A prominent businessman and political stakeholder in Ebonyi state, Chief Barrister Tochukwu Ogalagu, has called on Nigerians to draw strength from the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a guiding light for the nation’s political and socio-economic future.
In his Easter goodwill message to Christians and the people of Ebonyi State, particularly those in the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Ogalagu described Easter as a powerful symbol of victory, hope, and divine restoration.
According to him, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ remain the greatest demonstration of God’s love for humanity and a reminder that triumph can emerge from even the most difficult circumstances.
“Despite persecution, trials, and unimaginable suffering, Christ endured the cross, died, and rose again in glory. This eternal victory rekindles hope for the hopeless and reassures us that all things are possible through faith,” he said.
Ogalagu noted that this year’s Easter celebration comes at a critical period in Nigeria’s political landscape, urging citizens to reflect deeply and remain courageous in the face of national challenges.
Drawing a parallel between Christ’s triumph and Nigeria’s democratic journey, he emphasized the need for resilience, discipline, and unwavering commitment among citizens and leaders alike.
“Just as Christ triumphed over adversity, we too must remain steadfast in pursuing our dreams despite the challenges confronting us as a nation. Light will overcome darkness, and progress will overshadow stagnation,” he stated.
He urged Nigerians, especially the people of Ebonyi State, to take an active role in shaping the country’s future by participating in the democratic process. He specifically encouraged eligible citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remain law-abiding, vigilant, and patriotic.
“Democracy thrives when citizens take responsibility for their rights and destinies. We must all rise to the occasion and play our part in building the Nigeria we desire,” Ogalagu added.
The business mogul further stressed that the period between Easter 2026 and Easter 2027 should serve as a defining moment for national transformation, calling for renewed commitment to good governance, security, and socio-economic development at all levels.
He also offered prayers for divine intervention in the nation’s affairs, asking God to expose corrupt leaders and frustrate those who promote violence, insecurity, and division.
“It is our earnest prayer that God will raise visionary leaders committed to peace, justice, and genuine transformation. A new Nigeria is possible, but it requires collective effort,” he said.
Ogalagu used the opportunity to inform the public of his recent resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the decision was reached after wide consultations with key stakeholders and was taken in the best interest of Ebonyi State and the nation.
He urged his supporters and associates to remain resolute and hopeful as efforts continue toward repositioning the political and developmental trajectory of the state and the country.
Ogalagu concluded by wishing Nigerians a joyful Easter celebration, calling for renewed faith, unity, and optimism as the nation looks ahead to a better future.
