Kebbi state chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Sunday joined prominent Nigerians to felicitates Christian faithful in Nigeria and Kebbi state on the occasion of Easter celebration.
Engineer Ahmed Rufai Khalifa, the Kebbi state Chairman of NYCN in release described the period of Easter as time for sober reflection and a period to build on good teachings of Christian religion with a view to putting in practice what they have been listening on the pulpits.
Rufai tasked Christian youth across the country on nation building, peace promotion and unbiased unity of country, saying Nigeria remains the only country we have and youth are the catalyst of national development.
“We can’t afford as youth to allow this country to go up in flames because of our actions and inactions, youth must eschew violence with political or religious undertones. We should not play in the hands of unpatriotic Nigerians whose aim is to use youth to fan ambers of war and division”.
The state youth chief stated that Christian youth in Kebbi state have demonstrated religious tolerance and harmonious relationship when NYCN during Ramadan period hosted them to an iftar which was attended by huge Christian youth across Kebbi state, signalling religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
He commended Kebbi state and the Federal Government of Nigeria for their lofty youth social protection programmes even as he appeal to them to increase youth engagements in meaningful sector to uproot social vices being fueled by unemployments.
