The branch chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities, Comrade Dr Musa Isah Fakai, made the plea on Wednesday in a statement co-signed by him and the state secretary of the union.

According to him, remuneration package agreed between the federal government and ASUU has not been implemented despite written letters to university management and Kebbi State Ministry for Higher Education.

Fakai also decried non-payments of academic earned allowances, wage award, and over nine years non-implementation of promotions and promotions arrears of the years implemented.

Other key demands include seven years of non-implementation of annual salary increments from the 2020 to 2026 .

“We have made engagements with the school management, but no positive response, we also intimated the ministry for higher education on our demands, therefore we have exhausted our limits therefore consider downing tools to press for our demands ‘”.

The union noted that it has confidence in ability of Kebbi State governor, Dr Nasir Idris to meet their demands saying perhaps their demands didn’t get his attention.
