The wife of Sokoto State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, has emphasized the need to enact and domesticate laws eliminating violence against women, children in the state and Nigeria at large.
She stated this when she chaired the annual 16-day of activism in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children, saying it is important to raise awareness and take action to ensure the safety of women and children.
“It’s crucial to have strong legal measures in place to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. The presence of stakeholders from various walks of life shows the collective commitment towards creating a safer environment for everyone.
At the event, which was attended by commissioner for Health, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe, as well as stakeholders from other sectors.
