Rivers Assembly complex under demolition

By Moses Okorie

The political battle between governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara and his erstwhile godfather Nyesom Wike has taken a dangerous dimension as earth moving equipment are reportedly carrying out demolition exercise at the Rivers State House of Assembly complex.

Recall that the complex was recently engulfed by fire when crisis started amongst lawmakers loyal to Fubara and those for Wike, which resulted to impeachment of the Speaker.

Also, 27 lawmakers on Monday dumped their political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Following the development, a court had also barred the defected members from accessing the complex or carrying out their functions having left the political party that produced them.
