Give Tinubu more time, NASSCO’s boss begs Nigerians

The national coordinator, Social Safety Net Coordinating office Engineer Abdulaziz S.K Danladi, has urged Nigerians to shun nationwide planned protest scheduled for August 1, 2024.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja Hon. Engr. Danladi Keffi said the organizers of the protest should shelve the idea in the interest of the nation’s stability.

“Let me appeal to beloved Nigerian youths to give peace a chance. We are indeed passing through hard times in our dear nation, but we cannot give up like those who do not have hope,” he said.

He stated that in a democratic settings citizens have the right to protest, adding that most often, the protests in Nigeria with multiple ethnic groups do not end well.

He cited the 2020 #ENDSARS protest, which according to him, was being hijacked by unscrupulous elected and miscreants who do not mean well for the country, adding that at the end of the day, properties worth billions of Naira and many lives were lost.

He said President Bola Tinubu’s policies and reforms might be harsh now but at the end of every tunnel, there will be light.

“He is barely a year in office now. We should give him more time to correct all the abnormalities we have seen in this country, the abnormalities perpetrated by past governments.

“So that we can have a country of our collective hopes and aspirations.

“There is no place like home, Nigeria is our country, let’s have a country where peace and tranquility will reign supreme devoid of any molestation and witch- hunt.

“Let’s rally round this administration for a better Nigeria”, he said.
