The Sokoto State Police Command has received CP Ahmed Musa as the 48th Commissioner of Police in the state.
He is to spearhead the affairs of the State Police Command.
He takes over from Cp Ali Hayatu Kaigama, who retired meritoriously from active service.
Cp Ahmed Musa hails from Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa state.
His career began when he was enlisted on the 10th June 1994 as Assistant Superintendent of police Cadet and trained at Nigeria police academy wudil, Kano state.
He was posted to Kogi command as Asp on probation. Since then he grew in the force and served as General Duty personnel in field of administration, Operations, traffic management and investigations among others.
Ahmed Musa holds Bachelor of Arts in History from University of Maiduguri.
He served as Patrol and Guard and Divisional Traffic Officer at Kotonkafe division Kogi state, Staff Officer Junior Kogi state command, OC Adankolo Police Station Kogi command and OC Homicide CID Kogi state command.
Ahmad Musa also served as PA to the CP Kogi police police Command among others.
He similarly, as superintendent of police was redeployed to FCT Command and posted as Divisional Crime Officer National Assembly division, Divisional Police Officer Life Camp, Assokoro and National Assembly divisions.
According to the release by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, the new CP served as the Public Relations Officer FCT Command where he was transferred to Kaduna Command where he served as OC Anti Car theft.
Thereafter he was redeployed back to FCT command as Chief superintendent of Police department of operations and also finance and administration.
Consequently he was a team Leader IGP’s Monitoring Unit FHQs where he was promoted as Assistant Commissioner of police and was posted to National Assembly as police force liaison officer for the National Assembly.
He was also promoted to the Rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and Posted to Abia Command as Dc finance and Administration and then deployed back to FCT command as Dc criminal Investigation department.
Prior to his posting as commissioner of police Sokoto police command, he was Cp Community Safety and Crime Prevention DOPS FHQ.
He is happily married with children.
Among the courses attended include Advance Detective Course, Community Policing Course on Strategic Planning and Intelligence led Policing, Preventing Attacks on Soft Targets Course organized by United States Embassy, Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasures First Responder Training Course organized by United States Embassy, Tactical Leadership and Command Course and United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He is a professional police officer per excellence and an astute administrator. An expert on intelligence, cyber security and combating terrorism as well as propagator of community policing. He operates an open door policy in accordance with international best practices.
