Alia secures funds for payment of one year salaries, pensions

Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has announced that his administration has already secured funds for payment of salaries and pensions for the next one year, in fulfilment of part of his campaign promises to the people with particular emphasis to civil servants and the senior citizens to cushion their hardship.

The governor who spoke at one of the functions in Makurdi, to mark his 34th priestly ordination anniversary also revealed that his administration has concluded plans to constitute a committee to review the salary structure of workers in the state in line with the N70, 000 minimum wage pronouncement by the federal government, and called for patience.

He also assured Benue workers that more incentives would be provided to them for enhanced productivity and quality service delivery.

The governor observed that Benue people had always demanded for good governance, responsible and accountable leadership, arguing that such aspirations were not too much on a responsible Government, and promised not to deviate from friendly policies that would deliver dividends of democracy to the general masses.

He recalled that his administration came with a new thinking which is that of physical development and doing things truthfully, insisting that despite the attacks on his personality and government, he would remain focused in following his blue print that is geared towards building a new Benue that would meet the dreams of its founding fathers as well as the yearnings and aspirations of the masses.

The governor expressed appreciation to Benue people for coming out in their numbers to show solidarity with him on his 34th priestly ordination anniversary and called for their continued support to enable him deliver on his campaign promises to the people.
