Acting on credible intelligence and in view of the determination and resilience of the combined team of Policemen, Military and members of the vigilante, Eight (8) victims of the kidnapping incident of 6th October, 2024, at Kanya District of Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, have successfully been rescued unhurt on Tuesday, 8th October,2024 at about 1000hrs, at Sakaba forest after a gun duel.
The statement by the Kebbi Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar said the rescued victims have since been reunited with their families after medical attention at General hospital, Sakaba.
Regrettably, while the search and rescue operation was ongoing, the dead body of the district head of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya was found in the forest.
In view of the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani is using this medium to condole with the Kebbi State government, Zuru emirate, immediate family and well wishers of the late district head of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya and prayed his gentle soul continue to rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
Consequently, the CP hereby solicit members of the public to provide the Command and other security agencies with relevant information that will assist in arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
