The wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris, has emphasised the need for Muslims to intensify the search for knowledge in all fields with emphasis on religious education.
The first lady was speaking at the Q’uranic graduation of 10 married women at the Kulliyatu Abubakar Majidadi Al-Islamiyya Gidan Tafida Kabi Argungu.
She requested wealthy Muslims to institute educational programmes as well as establish more schools to impart knowledge to both children and adults in the quest for a decent society and beneficial livelihood.
The wife of the governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Maikurata, donated one million naira to the graduates.
The first lady reaffirmed her commitment to sustaining support to the Islamiyya School to continue with the activities of training married women in the memorisation of the Glorious Qur’an and the study of other tenets of Islam.
Highlight of the occasion include the presentation of an awards to the first lady of Kebbi state in appreciation of her support and contribution to the progress of the School.
The special guest of honour at the graduation ceremony was the wife of the deputy Governor Hajiya Aisha Tafida , which was also attended by the wife of the minister for humanitarian services Hajiya Zainab Tanko Sanunu and other personalities.
