The All Progressives Congress, APC, has congratulated its national Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru over his nomination as the Asiwaju Musulumi.

In a release issued on Saturday in Abuja by the national publicity secretary of the party, Felix Morka, APC said this nomination is a testament of Bashiru’s solid commitment to Islamic values and virtue.

The release reads: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) heartily congratulates our National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D, on his recent nomination for conferment of the prestigious Islamic Chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Musulumi of Osun State by the League of Imams and Alfas of Osun State.

“Your nomination for this prestigious Islamic Chieftaincy title is an attestation to your solid commitment to Islamic values and virtues, exemplary leadership, and long standing dedication to community development. It is yet another call to service that builds on your track record of public service as a legal luminary, and federal lawmaker, serving as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs in the 9th Senate, among other memberships of eminent committees of the National Assembly.

“We are glad that your contributions to fostering unity and improving the welfare of the needy within and beyond Osun State have not gone unnoticed.

“It is our hope that this recognition and honour will spur you to continue to keep faith with Islamic ideals and devote more time, talents and resources to serving humanity, to the Glory of Allah.”
