The Nigerian Police Force, Bauchi State command has conferred an award of excellence on Dr Umar Shayi, the Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters to Governor Bala Mohammad.
According to the police, the award is to recognized his outstanding commitment, contributions in service to humanity as well as his unwavering dedication, invaluable contribution toward achieving shared goals in the security architecture of the state.
The award plaque equally reads: “Your wisdom, compassion and commitment have served as a cornerstone of progress and unity with Nigeria Police”.
The police said the award highlights Dr Shayi’s exceptional commitment to eradicating terrorism, banditry, cattle rustling and other forms of criminality for his absolute and practical actions, terminologies couple with his spiritual dedication in a fostering acceptable and commendable atmosphere for a safer society.
In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Umar Shayi dedicated the award to the great people of Bauchi State and Nigeria at large, emphasizing the importance of hardwork, professionalism, synergy, effective intelligence gathering and outstanding collaboration and honesty as well as integrity and above all God-fearing in the course of carrying out obligations.
He expressed deepest profound gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force, Bauchi State command for deeming him worthy of recognition and commended his agency for their tireless commitment in sustaining humanity.
Dr Shayi equally called on parents to play active roles as custodian of peace, through proper guidance, supervision and commitment in fostering peace, development initiatives, growth and economic prosperity in Nigeria
He praised commitment of Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowered Agency, and acknowledged the efforts of the agency’s men and officers and commended their effective contributions to maintain peace.
He however, extended his sincere gratitude to all conventional security apparatus in the state for their professionalism and unwavering commitment in combating terrorism. Dr Shayi credited the various successes of security efforts to the total backing of Governor Bala Mohammad led-PDP administration in the state.
