Kebbi State branch of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCHOPSS, has commended the governor of Kebbi state, Dr Nasir Idris for increasing students feeding from one hundred and seventy five million to three hundred million.

The branch chairman of ANCHOPSS Kebbi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Kangiwa, gave the commendation in Birnin Kebbi, in an interview with our correspondent.

According to him, the upward review is a morale booster to students and principals of secondary schools across the state who have been yearning for the increase of students feeding.

“Before the recent increase, lots of students lost interest in school leading to out of school or school dropout in the state due poor or meager meals in our schools”.

He explained that, the commendation is aimed at encouraging the governor to add more to what he is doing in the state to ensure free and compulsory education in the state which is the birthright of every child not only in Kebbi but across the globe.

On the sidelines, however, the state principals chief appealed to the governor to upward review feeding rate per child as it will conform with the bulk sum increased for students feeding.

Kangiwa added that the association is in support of Kebbi government in her quest to reposition the education sector through the robust policies he deployed to deal with factors responsible for education decline in the state.

He admonished all principals in the state to stay focused on the line of duty in order to justify the money being expanded by the government in education sector.
