Anambra guber: APC fixes meeting for Tuesday, adopts indirect primary election

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has slated Tuesday, March 11, 2025 for a stakeholders meeting with aspirants and party leaders from Anambra State as the state gears up for governorship election.

Briefing journalists on the NWC meeting outcomes, the National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, disclosed that a stakeholders meeting with aspirants and party leaders from Anambra state will hold on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, by 1pm at the Party’s National Secretariat.

According to the party, “The APC National Working Committee, NWC, met today at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja and adopted INDIRECT PRIMARY to elect the Party’s candidate for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election.

Recall that the national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, had in October 2024 announcement timetable for the election, and said it was in line with Section 28(1) of the Electoral Act 2022, which required the commission to issue the notice for election not later than 360 days before the date of such an election.

The commission had approved that the 2025 Anambra State governorship election should hold on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
