Gov Idris swears in Kebbi CJ, Grand Khadi, inaugurates others

The Kebbi State governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has sworn in Justice Umar Abubakar as the substantive Chief Judge of the state and Khadi Sadiq Usman Mukhtar as the Grand Khadi.

The governor at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Birnin Kebbi, Monday, performed the swearing in ceremony.

Presenting the duo to the governor for the formal swearing in, the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, also read out the names of the chairmen and members of boards and parastatals to be inaugurated.

After the oath taking, Governor Nasir also inaugurated six governing boards of Tertiary Institutions and three other.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Governor Nasir Idris, expressed delight over the ceremony describing it as historic.

He said his administration would ensure justice to all people of Kebbi State irrespective of party affiliation and would support the judiciary to perform its statutory function.

Governor Idris reiterated the determination of his administration to transform the State in all the sectors.

On workers welfare, he said, “We do not owe salary, pensions, gratuities and leave grants. We are working assiduously to also complete our secretariat”.

The governor also announced that he would flag off the distribution of solar-powered pumps by Thursday or Friday this week to farmers across the state.

The newly appointed chairmen of the governing boards of the tertiary institutions are Dr. Haliru Bala as the Pro Chancellor, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aleiro, Dr. Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa; Adamu Augie College of Education Argungu, Professor Haliru Muhammad Bandiya, Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari; Alhaji Aminu Tanko Yauri; College of Basic and Advanced Studies Yauri, Alhaji Muktar Yalli Bunza; College of Nursing Sciences Birnin Kebbi.

Others are Alhaji Magaji Abdullahi Bunza, College of Health Technology, Jega; Kebbi State Contributory Pensions Board, Rt Hon Hassan Mohammed Shallah; Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Hon Bello Yakubu Rilisco, Alhaji Umar Isah Magaji, Kebbi State Zakkat Board and Malam Umar Malisa, Kebbi State Preaching Board.
