The Benue State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, has condoled with the families of two of its members, Godwin Mark-Iorpuu and the Emmanuel Uja over the death of his mother.
Led by its Chairman, Hembadoon Orsar, the association visited the Iorpuu family to pay their last respect to the late Godwin Mark-Iorpuu, a Deputy Director of Programmes at Radio Benue Makurdi and a member of SWAN.
Orsar during the visit described Mark-Iorpuu as a dedicated member of SWAN, whose life he lamented was cut short, but attested that he lived a fulfilled life.
The Benue SWAN chairman prayed for God to give the family the strength to overcome the vacuum created by his demise.
In a remark, wife of the deceased, Rose Iorpuu, thanked SWAN members for their show of love and support, saying that the testimonies shared about her husband had given her strength.
She described her husband as a peacemaker, who always turned conflicts into jokes.
Similarly, the SWAN delegation also visited Emmanuel Uja’s residence to condole with him over the loss of his mother, Mama Erena Uja.
Orsar in remark prayed God to give Uja the grace to take solace in Him, saying that his mother’s life was well spent.
Uja in response thanked SWAN members for their visit, saying that his mother was a victim of the herdsmen attacks, but she never despaired.
He appreciated the association’s support and prayed for God to bless them.
