The Executive Director of Housing, Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority, FHA, Dr. Mathias Byuan, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration (Finance) at the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, during the institutions 14th Convocation Ceremony in Abuja.
Dr. Byuan, in a statement on Saturday in Makurdi, after the convocation expressed profound gratitude to God for granting him the strength and perseverance to overcome the challenges of academic pursuit.
He also appreciated his family, mentors, and supporters who stood by him throughout his journey to attaining the doctorate degree.
The statement revealed that the Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Professor Olufemi Peters, during his convocation address, described the institution as a transformative force in higher education, which he noted has impacted not only Nigerians within the country but across international borders.
Professor Peters, during the occasion highlighted the university’s remarkable growth since its re-establishment in 2003, revealed the institution has expanded from a modest student population of 1,230 to over 133,000 students across 120 study centers nationwide.
According to the statement, the ceremony also featured the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees on two distinguished Nigerians including Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.
The event was graced by friends, family members, and well-wishers who came to celebrate with his academic milestone which has marked a significant achievement in his career.
