The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, Nasarawa Command, ACM Comfort Ochiba Asom, has called for collaborative efforts among all stakeholders towards the realization of the newly launched National Post Crash Care Initiative (NPCCI) aimed at providing immediate care for accident victims in the state.
ACM Asom stated this during the launch of the scheme in Lafia on Tuesday. She said the importance of NPCCI cannot be over stressed, adding that “it’s a milestone in enhancing support and care for road crash victims”.
According to her, “The initiative reflects a broader commitment to road safety and the welfare of individuals impacted by crashes on the highways in Nasarawa State.”
The First Lady of the state, represented by the wife of the state Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Sheila Tosan Akabe, said the initiative was designed to reduce fatalities and improve care for individuals affected by road crashes in the state.
She appreciated the initiative “for its timely relevance in addressing high rate of fatalities on our highways”, and called for collaborative efforts between the government, FRSC and other stakeholders to enhance safety of accident victims.
Highlights of the event included the inauguration of the initiative in the state, as well as a comprehensive session on first aid and rescue techniques featuring practical demonstrations aimed at equipping attendees with essential skills to respond effectively in the aftermath of road crashes.
