Sokoto Govt condoles community over death of 3 housewives, 4 children in boat mishap

The Sokoto State Government has extended condolences to the people of Rinaye village in Kambama Ward, Shagari Local Government Area following a tragic boat mishap that claimed seven lives, including three housewives and four children.

A high-powered delegation led by Commissioner for Agriculture Alhaji Tukur Alkali visited the village to commiserate with the bereaved families and offer support.

The government donated ₦4 million to the victims’ families.

A team of notable officials, including the Commissioner for Finance Alhaji Jabbi Shagari and Special Advisers, accompanied Alkali on the visit.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu, currently in Saudi Arabia for Hajj, expressed sympathy for the affected families through the delegation.

It’s worth noting that boat mishaps have been a recurring issue in the region.
