Business activities on Friday, June 27, ended abruptly at Gossa Market of Abuja Municipal Area Council of the nation’s capital when people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded the market with assorted weapons and started attacking people especially those of Hausa extraction.
According to information available to NATIONSPRIDE, the attack was a reprisal over the killing of a Fulani man who lynched on the previous market day, that is, last Friday. The slain Fulani man alongside others were said to have stolen the sum of N3,000,000 from a businesswoman, and only him was caught and beaten to death.
As at the time of filing in this report, security agents had been drafted to the market to restore law and order, even though people could not do their business as the attack around 10am when the market was getting set.
Many people were said to have been injured in the attack, but this media outfit cannot ascertain if anyone died in the incidence.
