A prominent Labour Party (LP) chieftain and former House of Representatives candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh has called on Nigerians to prepare for a mass electoral revolt against bad governance and elite-driven politics in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Dr. Ezeh declared that the time had come for Nigerians to abandon apathy and reclaim the ballot as a tool for social justice and democratic renewal.
According to him, hunger, failed promises, and policy failures by the current All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration have politically awakened citizens across all demographics.
“Bad governance has turned everyone into a vigilant citizen. The suffering in the land is real and biting. In 2027, nobody will wait to go to court. The people will come out en masse to vote and settle political scores at the ballot box,” Ezeh stated.
Ezeh, who is also the President of the Ebonyi State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, described the APC as a “power-hungry cabal” more interested in controlling state resources than delivering public good.
He said the ruling party’s internal crisis evident in the recent exit of its national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje was a sign of a crumbling political structure losing legitimacy.
“The APC has become unstable and reactive. Their house of cards is collapsing under the weight of their own contradictions. The desperation within their ranks is proof that they are feeling the heat from the united opposition,” Ezeh said.
He hailed the formation of a new opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a bold step towards rescuing Nigeria from decades of political manipulation and elite capture.
“For us in the Obidient Movement, we are offering a genuine alternative. We believe in justice, equity, and the redistribution of opportunities to every Nigerian—regardless of class, ethnicity, or religion,” he said.
Ezeh challenged President Bola Tinubu to resist the temptation of contesting in 2027 and instead focus on delivering a credible electoral process that could salvage his legacy.
“If Tinubu is not running in 2027, let him make history by conducting free and fair elections. That may be his only path to redemption in the eyes of Nigerians,” he suggested.
He criticised the federal government for what he termed “policy inconsistency and elite-driven governance,” insisting that the people are ready to take back power from politicians who see leadership as a tool for enrichment.
“Nigerians have had enough. The fuel subsidy removal, exchange rate crisis, and skyrocketing cost of living have humbled everyone. Nobody is waiting for miracles again. People are now ready to vote with anger, vote with purpose, and vote to end misrule,” Ezeh declared.
