The minister of agriculture, Alhaji Abubakar Kyari alongside his counterparts, the minister of state for Humanitarian, Dr Tanko Sununu as well as minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, on Thursday flagged off 2025 dry season farming and Ramadan palliative distribution in Kebbi.
Earlier, in his Speech, the minister said agriculture under President Bola Tinubu led government is receiving prompt attention as the president made sure farmers gets the assistance they needed to farm in large scale to ensure food security in the country.
He, however, commended President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris for making sure farmers receive inputs on time for dry-season farming across the country.
Governor Idris of Kebbi state said at least ten thousand power tilers, ten thousand solar powered pumping machines and ten thousand organic fertilisers have been made available to farmers in Kebbi for free to kick-start the 2025 dry season farming in the state.

Additionally, the state also made available improved rice seeds with over ten thousand herbicides for food sufficiency.
Idris, who donated hundreds of thousands bags of rice and millet to both civil servants and politicians at Haliru Abdu stadium warned buyers and salers of the Ramadan palliatives.
“The Ramadan package will be benefited by the poor only as we have excluded top politicians and top civil servants, distribution committee should ensure justice at the grassroots level during the distribution”.
The occasion was attended by former governors Saidu Nasamu Dakingari and Atiku Bagudu among top political echelons.
