Benue State Government has expressed readiness to address the housing challenges to enable Benue people to enjoy better and affordable accommodation.
Commissioner for Works and Housing Isaac Imojime made the disclosure during an interaction with journalists yesterday at his office in Makurdi.
The Commissioner informed journalists that from the beginning of next year, the state government would give serious attention to housing challenges.
He stated that the Alia led government is only interested in projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state and called on journalists to sustain their support for the government to achieve more for the Benue people.
The Commissioner equally told journalists during the interaction that within six months in the life of the Alia administration, the people of the state have started counting achievements recorded by the government which includes road construction, provision of street lights in Makurdi, provision of buses to ease transportation problem and registration of WAEC and NECO examinations for Benue students among others.
While appreciating journalists for their objectivity in their reportage, the commissioner also appealed for a good working relationship with them for the benefit of the Benue people.
According to him, the people of the state did not make any mistake by voting the man of God, Fr. Alia to power adding that governor Alia was interested in ensuring that all that went wrong were corrected.
“If the state government could achieve all these in few months, you can imagine what the government will do in one year”, the commissioner emphasized.
