Benue pensioners vows to purchase nomination form, support Gov Alia’s 2027 reelection bid

Members of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Benue State council have resolved to stand in solidarity with Governor Hyacinth Alia to ensure the success of the remaining part of his administration, and promised to purchase nomination form for him to contest for re-election in 2027 because of the great passion he has for pensioners.

The pensioners made their resolutions in a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting of the Union held at its secretariat yesterday in Makurdi,

The communique signed by chairman of the Benue senior citizens, Comrades Michael Vembe, Saater Bur, secretary, Timothy Kparevfa, Ex- Officio, Austyns Oteikwu for branch chairmen and Idu Godwin for branch secretaries, said council in session passed a vote of confidence on Governor Hyacinth Alia for the wonderful works he is doing in the state and particularly for pensioners.

The meeting comprising the state EXCO and all the 23 local government branch chairmen as well as secretaries, the state council during the meeting equally affirmed the decision to stand in solidarity with the governor as well to work hard for his re-election in 2027.

The senior citizens assured Governor Alia of their fervent prayers for God to continue to protect and guide him for him to take Benue State to greater heights of development.

Collaborating views of the congress, leader, Association of Benue Pensions Children, Ngbede Ofoine, expressed satisfaction with Governor Alia’s performance, especially the consideration his administration has given to pensioners who were referred to as dead people by the immediate past administration.

He, on behalf of the group, promised to mobilize support both finances, and canvassing of pensioners children across the 23 local government areas for their parents to actualize their desire for Governor Alia to win his second tenure to continue his good works, especially to pensioners.
