BREAKING: Nwabali’s save qualifies Nigeria for final

By Moses Okorie

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabani’s save has put the Super Eagles of Nigeria through to the finals of the 2023 AFCON competition after beating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalty.

Nigeria and South Africa had played a 1-1 draw at the regulation time before the match snowballed into a 30-minutes barren extra time.

The Bafana Bafana were relying on their goalkeeper, William, should the match go into penalty kick, but unfortunately to them, he could not keep any goal, except a kick played over-the-bar by Ola Aina.

Nigeria will meet either the host country; Ivory Coast or DR Congo who are slugging it out at the time of filing this report.
