Benue State Governor Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has charged the new accountant general of the state to always acknowledge and put interest of the state first in the discharge of her official duties.

Governor Alia gave the charge through an approval to confirm Mrs. Theresa Nyitse as the substantive Account General of Benue State.

The governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula released to journalists in Makurdi, said until her confirmation Mrs. Nyitse acted in the position of Accountant General for the past three months.

Governor Alia in the letter of confirmation, expressed satisfaction with performance of the new Account General, adding that it was only appropriate to confirm her for her to have a proper sense of recognition as well as place her in a rightful position among her counterparts in other states of the Federation.

While wishing the new Accountant General the best of luck, governor Alia reminded the new A/G to look at her position as very sensitive in government, expressing the optimism that it would spur her to do more and urged her to remain focused.
