Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has categorically denied knowledge of a State Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC allegedly announced by former state chairman, Austin Agada.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Thursday in Makurdi, also revealed that the meeting was purportedly scheduled for 15th August.

Governor Alia, in the statement also explained that as the APC leader in the state, he must be aware of such a meeting, emphasizing that no legitimate APC gathering could take place without his knowledge and insisted that as the Chief Security Officer of the state, he should be aware of any authorized meeting.

The Governor warned that any attempt to disrupt the peace people of the state were enjoying by convening an unauthorized meeting would have grave consequences.

“Nigeria is not a lawless state, and neither is Benue State. Those who think they can undermine the authority of the state must know this and know peace.” The governor further warned.

Governor, Alia while reiterating commitment towards maintaining law and order in the state, warned perpetrators of violence in whatever guise to stay away from the state, insisting that any attempt of such kind would be resisted.
