Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has appreciated management of BUA Cement PLC for giving back to the community in form of its sustained corporate social responsibility.
The governor was speaking during the BUA Cement community development projects commissioning which marks a significant milestone in the collective efforts of government and BUA to foster sustainable development and improve the quality of lives of the people in the state.
Governor Ahmad appreciated BUA for their unwavering commitments to corporate social responsibilities.
“Your dedication to community development is not only commendable but also serves as a shining example for other corporate entities to follow. The BUA Cement Community Development Project is a testament to what can be achieved when the private sector and government work hand in hand for the common good”.
The governor who was represented at the ceremony by the state Commissioner for Water Resources Aminu Dodo Iya also said community development is the cornerstone of any thriving society and that it is through initiatives like this that they can address the pressing needs of communities.
“As a government, we recognize the importance of creating an enabling environment for such initiatives to flourish. We are committed to providing the necessary support and collaboration to ensure the success of these projects”.
The governor then commissioned the N343 million projects.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/CEO of the Company Engnr Yusuf Binji said in the past BUA Cement plc distributed drugs and hospital equipment to 16 hospitals and clinics across Wamakko local government area.
“We are dedicated and committed to giving back to our host communities to add value to our common relationship which is mutually beneficial. We, no doubt, sincerely appretiate the enormous and genuine support and cooperation our hosts have given us over the years”.
The Managing Director represented by Director Corporate Services Sada Sulaiman thanked governor Ahmad Aliyi for support and unrelenting advices they received.
“Your presence is a clear testimony of the support and cordial relationship between BUA cement plc and the state government”, averred Binji.
Engnr Ali Gumel and Alhaji Rabi’u Maska in their seperate remarks the aim is to ease the beneficiaries lifestyles saying 150 tonnes of cement would be distrbuted to host communities for rwpairs of Mosques, Cemeteries and other related social places.
Similarly, five primary schools would also benefit with uniforms specifically for those that do not attend schools due to lack of uniforms.
The Wamakko Council Chairman Ahmad Dundaye thanked both the state government and BUA cement plc for their concern to his people.
