The newly elected chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Sokoto State Correspondent Chapel, Mr. Ankeli Emmanuel, assured members of his unalloyed commitment to improved members welfare.
The release jointly signed by he and the secretary, Musa Ubandawaki, they said the new executives would continue to provide all-inclusive leadership, and appealed to all to hold tenaciously to the tenets of the noble profession.
The new chairman also assured of ensuring accountability and transparency, saying, all members should see themselves as leaders hence they will be engaged productively in the affairs of the new executive.
He thanked members of the credentials committee for their steadfastness in the conduct of the transparent election.
The Correspondent chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Sokoto state today Wednesday elected new executives to run its affairs for next three years.
The election saw the emergence of Ankeli Emmanuel, of National Accord Newspaper as the newly elected chairman while Musa Ubandawaki of Vanguard Newspaper emerged secretary and Umar Danladi Ado of Triumph Newspaper was voted as treasurer.
Others who emerged unopposed are Adamu Suleiman, Nation Newspaper, Vice chairman, Olakunle Ma’aruf, of Tribune Newspaper as Assistant Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed Goronyo of AljazirahNigeria Newspaper as financial secretary and Shafa’tu Suleiman of The Sun Newspaper as auditor respectively.
