The Director, National Youth Service Corps, North West Area office, Mr. Kehinde Aremu-Cole has urged corps members to shun the act of engaging in night journey. He made this appeal on Friday on his visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata, Kwara State.
While addressing the 2023 batch ‘C’ stream 2 corps members undergoing orientation course in the camp, the Director said losing one’s child to the cold hand of automobile accident while on national service due to unnecessary night journey is most disheartened experience parents could ever imagine.
He therefore enjoined them to resist any form of temptation or pressure that could warrant them embarking on night journey.
The NYSC boss also encouraged the corps members to accept their posting in good faith.
He explained that the purpose of their service to the fatherland is to impact their various host communities in best way necessary, and advised them to focus on the positive track they must make through the instrumentation of Community Development Service, CDS.
Mr. Aremu-Cole who expressed his passion for community development, youth empowerment, as well as human capital development therefore gave the corps members free access to beckoned on him for needed assistance in their quest to achieve the national goals.
Meanwhile, while welcoming the Director earlier, the State coordinator NYSC Kwara, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa has described the Director as an orator whose administrative competent is highly worthy of emulation.
He further stressed the need for the corps members to religiously adhere to the Director’s instructions, adding that the director has mentored many youths and close associates into achieving their set goals.
