Sallah: Emir of Zuru tasks subjects on loyalty to government

The Emir of Zuru, Major-General Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo ll, has declared that he is optimistic and confident that with absolute loyalty and genuine support Governor Nasir Idris will fulfil his campaign promises to the people of the emirate.

He gave the declaration while addressing his subjects at his palace, shortly after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers led by the Zuru Emirate Chief Imam, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammadu Tanko.

At the palace were senior Emirate Council members, traditional titleholders, chiefdom, district heads, political officeholders, religious leaders, members of the business community and thousands of Zuru illustrious sons.

The monarch told his subjects that his conviction that the governor means well for the people was based on his personal discussion and several interactions with him on the numerous socioeconomic challenges of the emirate and his repeated assurances of his desire to confront them head-on.

The Emir cited the successes achieved in checking the inhuman activities of armed banditry in the emirate which he added, had comparatively revived socioeconomic activities in the emirate.

General Sami Gomo expressed appreciation for the large turnout of prominent people of the emirate for the celebration at home and appealed to them to maintain the exemplary conduct particularly during Eid-el-Fitr, Eid-el-Kabir, Christmas and the annual Uhola cultural festival.

Speaking on behalf of the major stakeholders of the emirate, the Turakin Zuru Alhaji Zubairu Abdullahi Turaki thanked the Emir for providing the opportunity for them to interact with a view to promoting and defending the overall interest of the emirate.

With expected determination and commitment of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, the State Chairman of the ruling party, the Head of the State Civil Service, four Commissioners, six permanent secretaries and a number of Special Advisers from the emirate.
