World Orphans Day: Commissioner lauds Kebbi firstlady’s interventions

As the world marks orphans day, the Kebbi State Commissioner for humanitarian affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Hamidu Jarkuka, has lauded the various interventions of Kebbi first lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris to hundreds of orphans in the state through her programmes.

According to him, the first lady has been named “uwar marayu” which means mother of the orphans by the people of the state for putting smiles on the faces of orphans through her programmes which enrolled thousands of orphans in schools, supplies medicine and food to give them sense of belonging.

Jarkuku explained that his commendation is on personal capacity since his ministry is not in charge of orphans.

“I decided to personally laud the Kebbi first lady Zainab Nasir for being there for the orphans at all times on a day like this when orphans are being remembered and celebrated “.

He called on well-to-do Nigerians to always reach out to orphans.
