A group of youth under aegis of Zamfara APC Youth Support, on Monday, visited Kebbi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, to explain to the media on why the people of Zamfara are still behind the former Zamfara governor, Abdulaziz Yari, eight years after.

Leader of the youth group, Abdullahi Abubakar Birnin Tsaba said they were in Kebbi to tell the people of a sister state Kebbi why the legacies of Yari live on despite leaving office eight years ago.

According to him, Yari as a governor has impacted positively on the lives of Zamfara people who during his time had total rebirth of all sectors in the state saying in the health sector Yari built more than 4,000 hospitals, renovated many clinics, built so many schools to cater for the children of the poor in the state.

Tsaba, maintained that his welfare package to the people of the state remains till today as he gives free bags of rice during Ramadan fasting and Sallah just to maintain his generosity to his people.

Responding on behalf of Kebbi NUJ council, the state chairman, Garba Muhammad Yeldu, said that the group has the support of Kebbi council saying Kebbi is an elder sister to Zamfara state therefore they are at home and will enjoy all the necessary support.

He queried the rationale behind the visit by hammering on whether the ex-Zamfara governor is nursing a political ambition.
