By Haruna Usman, Birnin Kebbi
Alhaji Yawale Adamu Sawwa; a top political ally to the governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, has urged potential governorship aspirants in both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to sheathe their swords as their is no vacancy in Kebbi Government House come 2027.
While advancing his reasons for asking them to jettison 2027, he said already Kebbi electorate who never had it so good than now have resolved to return Idris as their governor in 2027 because he has shown deep love to the people of the state through visible massive infrastructure.
“It will be an act of hypocrisy for an indigene of Kebbi State to say the state capital Birnin Kebbi is not wearing a new look befitting of a state capital. Visitors to Kebbi who were there eight years ago are in the best position to make comparisons whether what we had before is a state capital or a local government headquarters”.
He added that part of the reason they are pushing for continuity in Kebbi state is the huge success the governor recorded in degrading armed banditry in Zuru Emirate due to huge logistics support he has been giving to combined armed forces which guaranteed the return of farmers to their farms in the hitherto ravaged Zuru villages in Kebbi state.
Yawale also noted how the governor is gradually transforming education with improved infrastructure, new minimum wage for both primary and secondary school teachers to boost academic excellence.
He, however, said that qualified sons of Kebbi are free to contest but they should know that voters in Kebbi have settled for continuity as the only vehicle that can propel the state to sustainable development, progress and peace.
“Let me use this medium to reach out to opposition to team up with Idris for the development of Kebbi state because under him the state can compete with other states in terms of modern developments”, he said.
