The Kebbi State Council of National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) has joined prominent women across the world to commemorate the day.
Hadiza Muhammed Kola, the Kebbi State President, in a statement signed by her asked women in Kebbi and Nigeria to liberate themselves from poverty through hard work in all strata of human endeavours including politics, which she described as ladder that can be used to get emancipation from poverty and other social imbalances.
According to her, the women day was set aside to celebrate women of substance who contributed to the success of other women in the society .
“Today we celebrate Kebbi first lady, Zainab Nasir Idris for her invaluable support to NCWS and for reaching out to poor women in both urban and rural areas, the council also celebrate the first family, Senator Remi Tinubu for being the pillar of support to all women across religious and ethnic backgrounds”.
Kola urged women at all levels to demand good governance at both grassroots and urban level of governance even as she admonished women in high government positions in Kebbi to advance the course of women by supporting them to accualise their
