Following its ‘long walk to victory’, the Association of Corporate Online Editors on Thursday held its first post-registration meeting at the FCT council secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalist in Abuja just as the body is now duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC.
Members expressed great delight with the executive under the leadership of its acting chairman, Mr. Martins Odiete for weathering the storm and getting the body registered. The association also appointed three more persons to join the existing executive committee members.
Those appointed are Ibeneme Ebelechukwu of Communicator On-line Newspaper who will act as the Treasurer, ‘Seun Ibukun-Oni of Daily Courier News as the Publicity Secretary and Alabidun Abdulrahman of Intercontinental News 247 as the Assistant Secretary.
These newly appointed individuals are to join hands with the existing persons; Martins Odiete, Chairman; Ignatius Ushie, Vice chairman; Shola Akingboye, Secretary, and Ameen Khadijat Oluwatoyin, Financial Secretary, with a mandate to steer ship of the association until August 16, 2025 when elections would be conducted for substantive positions.

At the congress, Accreditation Committee was constituted with the mandate of setting up admission criteria, vetting and screening potential members, which is to be chaired by Mr. Onyebuchi Nze (Investigators News) and supported by Fred Idehai, (CNA); Joy Odor (Report Circle Online); ‘Seun Ibukun Oni, (Daily Courier); and Queen Kunde, (Ziti Online News).
In a similar development, Media Committee was inaugurated chaired by the Publicity Secretary, ‘Seun Ibukun-Oni. He is to work together with Moses Okorie (NationsPride); Nnamdi Okosieme (News Allround); Ameh Gabriel, (The Sightnews); Queen Kunde (Ziti Online News); Samuel Ahmadu (Savid News) and Raymond Nyatit Enoch, (Paradigm Online News).
They are to develop and implement comprehensive media strategies for the Association. The committee will be required to coordinate media coverage for events, programmes, and organizational milestones including to facilitate a monthly X, Facebook and Instagram live engagement for members and public enlightenment

Members were also glad to know that the association has developed a website – www.corporateonlineeditors.com where they will publish their activities, aims and objectives and link of the various media organizations that have registered with the union. The website is still nearly completed.
The group insisted that it would not admit people with questionable characters or those who do not meet up with criteria for registration.
