Gov Idris mourns death of Army Chief Lagbaja

The governor of Kebbi state, Dr. Nasir Idris, has joined prominent Nigerians to mourn the death of Nigeria’s chief of army staff, late Taoreed Lagbaja who died yesterday after battling with sickness.

Idris, in a statement signed by his special adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru described the army chief as a gallant soldier who died in the service of his country.

“We received the news of his passing with shock knowing he has created a vaccuum hard to be filled in the country ”

Late COAS, has reduced banditry to the barest minimum through his regular onslaught on insurgents and bandits threatening the peace of the country.

During his reign,late Lagbaja ensured the welfare of Nigerian military on the front lines and in the various army barracks across the country with improved welfare to boost their morale while at the battlefield.

Idris, while praying to Allah to grant him eternal rest and console the family over the irreparable loss described his death as a National loss.
