The State Executive Council has approved the lifting of the suspension on the state attorney general and commissioner for Justice and Public Order, Fidelis Mnyim, for what he said exco described as unilateral decision to list the state among other sub-nationals that filed a suit against the federal government on the establishment of the EFCC and ICPC without due consultation with authorities.
Governor Hyacinth Alia, who announced council decision while briefing journalists after the state executive council meeting held Monday at Government House Makurdi.
He said Mnyim, after the public outcry, had wrote and delisted Benue amongst the states contesting the constitutionality of the laws establishing the two anti-graft agencies hence EXCOs reversed decision.
Nationspride had earlier reported that Benue state governor, Hyacinth Alia, suspended his attorney general for joining other commissioners of justice to file case demanding the scrapingof the EFCC and ICPC even when the state is benefiting from the agencies by recovering funds embezzled by previous administrations.
