Sokoto State Deputy governor Alhaji idris Muhammed Gobir and the State commissioner of police Alhaji Ali Kaigama were among hundreds of people that attended the funeral prayer of two members of the deputy governor’s convoy involved in a fatal accident along Sabon Birni- Sokoto road while on official engagement.
The deceased are inspector Muhammad Abubakar Bargaja and the photographer Buhari Tanko.
The Director of Press to the governor, Garba Muhammad, also said the funeral prayer was led by the Chief imam of Sultan Sa’ad Jumu’at mosque and commissioner for Religious Affairs Sheikh Jabir Sani Maihulla.
Condoling the families of the deceased at their respective homes, the deputy governor described the incident as a will of God.
He described the deceased as hardworking and committed officers.
Alhaji idris Gobir prayed Allah to grant their souls eternal rest and give the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The deputy governor announced monthly assistance to the families of the deceased throughout his stay in office.
