The newly elected chairman of the Association of Corporate Online Editors, ACOE, Omosola Akingboye, has assured members that the association would progress under his leadership and promised to work collaboratively to achieve the association’s goals in the spirit of a fair electoral process.
According to a release signed by the Public Relations Officer of ACOE, Gbemiga Olamikan, Akingboye stated this, weekend, after he was sworn in as the chairman of ACOE alongside other executive members in an election that took place on May 30, 2025, at the secretariat of the FCT Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, which was witnessed by Ms Joy Idam; a representative from the FCT NUJ Council.
Members of ACOE elected nine members as the first substantive executive to lead the association for a three-year term, with Omosola Akingboye as the chairman.
Ms Joy Idam, commended the electoral process for being free and fair, encouraged the newly elected members to excel in the industry with a leadership style that accommodates all members and upholds journalism standards.
The newly elected executive members are: Omosola Akingboye (chairman), Khadijat Ameen (Vice Chairman), Queen Kunde (General Secretary), Peace Ofeoshi (Assistant Secretary), Joy Odor (Treasurer).
Others are Augustine Ehikioya (Financial Secretary), Chidiebere Ugwu (Welfare Officer), Gbemiga Olamikan (Public Relations Officer), and Moses Akwashiki (Provost).
Akingboye called on partners and stakeholders to expect great things from the association, emphasizing that it would strive to uplift the standards of journalism.
Akingboye was the pioneer secretary general of the association before emerging aa the chairman.
