Benue State Government has expressed worry over repeated attacks and ‘uncomplimentary’ remarks, especially the recent strange behaviour exhibited by the National Assembly Member, representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Philip Agbese, describing the act as disturbing and not befitting his status.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Tersoo Kula who made government’s position public during a press conference in Makurdi, while reacting to Agbese’s out boost describing Governor Hyacinth Alia’s government as a den of demons, advised the lawmaker to face his legislative duties to deliver on his campaign promises to his people instead of pursuing shadows.
He recalled that when the same lawmaker made mockery of himself by taking down the portrait of Governor Alia in his office as well as ran commentaries not befitting of his status as representative of the people, government viewed the act as abnormal but kept calm in order to see his further actions.
He described as unacceptable deliberate move by Agbese to malign a man who is delivering on his mandate by especially taking the welfare of Benue people through payment of salaries and pensions top priority, provision of infrastructure as well as other people oriented projects and urged the lawmaker to face his legislative business instead of chasing shadows.
The chief press secretary said Governor Alia would never be deterred or distracted by such antics but would always remained more than focused to deliver the goods to the people of Benue State, adding that even if the lawmaker wished to be Governor, at the moment the people of Benue spoke loud and clear during the last general elections that they preferred Governor Alia through their ballots and urged him as a representative of the people to remain focused.
