Benue state governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has condemned the Saturday’s attack on the private residence of member representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, Solomon Wombo, by unidentified gunmen, where his housekeeper was brutalized and left with various degrees of injuries.
Governor Alia in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, yesterday, in Makurdi, recalled with displeasure that in the late hours of last Saturday, some armed men invaded the residence of the lawmaker, and desperately demanded to know his whereabouts as well as insisted that the main flat of the house must be opened for them to search.
He emphasized that his administration would not watch criminals terrorize innocent people in the state, promising that his government would equally do everything within its power to ensure that the suspects are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law to serve as deterrent.
He announced that government would offer ten million naira as bounty to anyone that would give useful information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects and enjoined security agencies to work tirelessly to fish out the suspects and bring them to face the full force of the law and to ensure greater security and safety for all citizens of the state.
The governor equally urged the good people of the state to remain calm, assuring that his administration would not rest on its oars until the state is made free of every form of criminality.
