Alia parteners 2 foreign firms to improve healthcare, electricity in Benue

Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has beckoned investors across the globe to take advantage of the many untapped business opportunities in the state for the mutual benefit of both people of the state and the companies.

The governor extended the invitation at a ceremony to sign two memorandums of understanding, Monday, in Makurdi, between Sinoki Systems Limited for the establishment of Hybrid Solar Panel Factory and Shangai Haitian Hospital.

Governor Alia during the ceremony in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, said partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital would facilitate academic and clinical interchange between Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, Makurdi in the area of joint studies, training and other educational programmes of mutual interest.

He expressed optimism that the partnerships would open up more doors of investments in the state, and assured that his administration is willing to welcome more investors into the state.

He described the partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital as exciting, expressing the determination of his administration  to improve the overall health sector in the state to discourage health tourism to other countries.

He added that the Benue State University Teaching Hospital would benefit from the collaboration thereby, discouraging people going overseas on medical tourism, to grow the economy for better development.

He also noted with satisfaction that the partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital would open more doors, especially the tertiary healthcare system.

He equally revealed that the government intends to put all machinery in place to ensure the functionality of the health system in the state beginning from the primary to tertiary health care institutions and described establishment of a Hybrid Solar Panel Factory in the state as a quick fix to the epileptic power challenge faced in the state.
