Ahead of the local government elections in Benue State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged its members and the general public to disregard any release that is not endorsed by the state executive council, SEC, presided over by its acting chairman, Benjamin Omakolo.
State chairman of the APC who gave the order in a statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary Terseer Agber, in Makurdi, while reacting to a purported zoning arrangement released by the Austin Agada-led former EXCO, informed members of the party that no such committee has been constituted by the state executive council under his watch.
He said the SEC in would ordinarily have ignored or rejected what it described as actions of a disgruntled group of party members if not for setting the records straight.
“The attention of the Benue State Executive Council,SEC, of our great party, the All Progressives Congress APC, has been drawn to a purported release in which some names have been listed as members of a zoning committee for the forthcoming 2024 local government elections in the state.
” The Benue state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Benjamin Omakolo wishes to inform our loyal members and the general public that no committee of any kind has been formed by the SEC of the APC which he is the chairman”, the statement reads in path.
The Acting state chairman, Omakolo, according to the statement, called on all party members and the general public to disregard any release not endorsed by him or the state publicity secretary of the party,Terseer Agber.
He expressed worry why a non-existing state executive council could sit at Abuja and constitute an elections zoning committee for Benue State.
