Assemblies of God Nigeria, Abuja East District, has held its triennial district council meeting to elect those that would pilot affairs of the district for another period of three years.
Despite the keenly contested election at the National Worship Centre of the church, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, all the members of the executive members retained their various posts.
The election saw the return of Reverend Emmanuel Otta as the district superintendent, Reverend Kayode Shenkale as the assistant district superintendent, Reverend Chinedu Modebe as the district secretary and Reverend Clement Akpan as the district treasurer or economic adviser.

Others were Reverend Sunday Ogizi, Reverend Jesse Udagha and Reverend Sylvester Afemekhu who were returned as members of the presbytery.
The General Superintendent of the church, Reverend Dr. Abel Ukachi Amadi, who came from the national headquarters of Assemblies of God Nigeria in Enugu to conduct the election, was supported by the district superintendent of Gboko who doubles as the executive committee (EC) member representing North Central Zone II, Reverend John Agev as well as some other officials.
Admonishing the congregation, Reverend Amadi said God demands righteousness from all Christians especially clergymen who are supposed to serve as good examples to others.
He frowned at the high-level ungodly lifestyle in the world today such as corruption and other forms of immorality despite the high number of pastors in the country.
Those eligible to vote during the election were all the ordained ministers, licence ministers, exhorters and some delegates from various participating churches.
